MP: Calls to withdraw confidence from PM, still dominating political scene

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The MP of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Hassan Jihad, described “The calls by some political blocs to withdraw confidence from the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki as “Still the highest dominating calls in the political scene.” Jihad said “Withdrawing confidence from the Maliki is still the most prominent alternative on the political scene, yet there are other attitudes, among them, the demand to question the ministers of the blocs which request withdrawing confidence from the PM, in addition to the call to withdraw confidence from the Parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, which is considered as a reaction to the request of withdrawing confidence from Maliki.” “On the other hand, most of the MPs within the Iraqi National Alliance prefer to hold the national meeting as a last resort to settle the current political crisis, while the President Jalal Talabani called to adopt effective and civilized dialogue among all parties, urging to speed up holding the national meeting,” he added. “The coming days are important and decisive in respect to the political process in Iraq,” he concluded.
