MP describes Infrastructure law draft as "Incorrect"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mohamed al-Khafaji, of the Parliamentary Services Committee, stated “The Infrastructure law draft that includes building residencies for the citizens according to the late payment system is incorrect where we tried it during the pervious regime in 1983 when 40 USD Billions were borrowed from the foreign companies to develop the services.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said ” The previous regime could not adhere to the rules of those sums where the Iraqi government after 2003 had to pay more than 140 USD Billions as benefits for those 40 USD Billions, but the Finance Minister, during Paris Conference, could drop 80% of the benefits.”

“Due to the fears of this law draft, we do not need 37 USD Billions that are stated in this law draft where the foreign companies invest in Iraq on the benefits of the citizens and the government,” he added.

“The new economic system imposed by the government by this law draft, will be similar to the capitalism where the only user in it is the citizen,” he concluded.
