MP hopes that names of Security Ministers won’t be imposed as result to “consignments.”

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com – The Legislature from Iraq ’s “Center Alliance,” Mohammed Iqbal, has expressed hope that the names of candidates for the Security Cabinet posts won’t be imposed as result to what he described as “consignments,” among leading political coalitions.   “Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has   not defined a clear timetable for proposing his Security Cabinet Ministers for voting by the Parliament,” Iqbal told IraqiNews.com news agency, considering the voting in a single Parliament session as “an accelerated rushed measure.”   He said the Parliament members “shall strive to vote for the most-efficient candidates for the said posts,” expressing hope that “the names of the candidates won’t be imposed by large coalitions or that voting on them won’t take place as result to ‘consignments.”   Differences have taken place over the past two months on the nomination of candidates for the security cabinet posts, that had been vacant, especially the posts of Interior and Defense ministries, the first being the share of the National Coalition, led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, and the second by al-Iraiqiya Coalition, led by former Prime Minister Iyad Allawi, provided they would be granted for independent elements, whilst each of the two coalitions had been rejecting the candidate of the other.   RT / SKH 633
