MP Sayadi suspends his membership in Education Committee

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Independent MP, Kadhim al-Sayadi, suspended his membership in the Parliamentary Education Committee since Saturday.

MP Sayadi confirmed in a press statement received by IraqiNews.com that ”MP Sayadi suspended his membership in the committee due to the spread of corruption in the Ministry of Education and particularly in the Office of the Education Minister, Mohamed Tamem,” represented by launching recent appointment opportunities which was based on bribery principle rather than other qualifications.”

He added that ”The Education Committee has previously demanded to host the Education Ministry to discuss the corruption in the Ministry but the demands of the committee were neglected.”

He pointed out that ”The Minister of Education did not commit to implement the strategy and budget items which were allocated to his Ministry in 2012 which negatively reflected on the whole education process.” \
