MP: SLC to call for dissolving parliament

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Abdul Salam al-Maliki, of the State of Law Coalition assured that “We have the choice of calling for dissolving the parliament and forming a government of political majority as a response to the attempt of withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “We will not remain as spectators towards the illogical performance of some political sides who ignored us as partners in the political process and went on in their project to withdraw confidence from Maliki.”

“The SLC attempted many times to calm down the tensions and called for holding the national conference, yet, some blocs insisted on toppling Maliki,” he added.

“Iraqis realize that some political sides adopt sectarianism to topple the patriotic sides,” he concluded.

Earlier, the President Jalal Talabani assured that the number of the MPs who have signed a request to withdraw confidence from the Premier Nouri al-Maliki reached only 160 MPs which is less than the required number limited by 163.

The political sides which held a meeting in Erbil on last Sunday decided to send “A clarifying message to confirm that the signatures collected for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, are constitutionally suffesient and valid.

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.
