MP urges to reconsider vote on IHEC members

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mohamed Iqbal, of Wasat Alliance called “The parliament to reconsider the vote on the members of the Independent High Electoral Commission.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “It was better for the political leaders to be fair with Nineveh province by nominating one of the IHEC members from the province since it is the second largest province in Iraq.”

He criticized “The political compliments in nominating the IHEC members that will affect its performance.”

“Iraq needs involving the qualified professional figures in rebuilding process,” he added, noting that “Nineveh is one of the important Iraqi provinces that involve scientific, administrative and leading professional figures.”

He urged “The parliament to avoid discrimination while dealing with Nineveh province to ensure the social justice.”
