MPs of Basra threaten to lead public rallies for lack of services in their province

Basra (IraqiNews.com) MPs of Basra province threatened to lead public rallies if the deterioration of the services continued in their province.

MP, Jawad al-Bazoni, stated in a press conference that he held with a number of other MPs from Basra that “With the continuous deterioration of the services in all aspects especially the electric power all over Iraq including Basra, Basra MPs feel that it is their duty to lead a public demonstrations against the local government and the central government to call for providing services and upgrading the electric power.”

For his part, the independent MP, Sabah al-Saedi, assured during the conference that “The central Government is corrupted especially the Ministry of Electricity in which the Minister is replaced every year without reaching solution for the crisis of the electric power.”

It is worth mentioning that a demonstration was launched in al-Jamhouriya area of central Basra province on last Monday to protest the continuous lack of the electric power.
