Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Samira al-Musawi, of the State of Law Coalition criticized “The recent performance of the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi,” calling him to “reform the parliament which has weak administrative and weak financial and political performance due to its weak chairmanship.”

She mentioned in a press statement received by IraqiNews.com that “Nijaifi did not encourage MPs to vote over the most important laws that concern the citizens but he sided with political figures against others which is unacceptable.”

“The parliament endorsed only few unimportant laws and neglected the important laws which unify the Iraqis and settle their problems like the Oil and Gas Law drafts, Elections Law draft, Constitutional amendments and the Parliament bylaw,” she confirmed.

“Endorsing the Oil and Gas Law would settle the pending the issues between the Central Government and the Kurdistani Regional Government,” she stressed.

“The supervisory role of the parliament is so weak where about 16 MPs do not attend the parliament session at all without taking the required procedures against them,” she concluded.
