Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Saad al-Mutalabi, of the State of the Law Coalition within the Iraqi National Alliance stated that “The number of the supporting MPs to the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, passes (170) MPs and this confirms that the confidence will not be withdrawn from him.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated ” According to the deals and dialogues with these MPs, we made sure about this number,” noting that “Many of the MPs of the Iraqiya Slate are not satisfied with the leadership of Ayad Allawi to the IS and they show concerns over the Kurds’ domination of their areas, so they do not support withdrawing confidence from Maliki.”

“This issue will be more complicated because there is no replacement to Maliki,” he stressed.

“Withdrawing confidence from government will force the INA and the SLC not to cooperate with the new government and this will turn the new Cabinet into a caretaking government,” he concluded.

Earlier, al-Sabah newspaper quoted a Kurdish official, as saying “There are disputes among the Kurdistani Alliance and the IS over withdrawing confidence from the government where some parts support it and others object it.”
