National Alliance confirms Judicial neutrality

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: National Alliance leaders discussed the latest political developments and the preparations to hold the national conference at the end of this month, as well as the final results of the meetings. In a statement by the Alliance, copy received by IraqiNews.com, added the importance of the neutrality of the judicial system and keeping vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi’s case in its judicial jurisdiction, with no political bargaining, as well as refusing transferring the case out of Baghdad. The statement confirmed that “the Alliance stresses its conviction in its national project, consolidating national unity and calling for the support of the people for this project”. Iraq is moving into a severe political crisis after accusing vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi with terrorism and issuing an arrest warrant against him, in addition to Premier Nouri al-Maliki’s decision to demote his deputy Saleh al-Mutlaq, who are both leading members in the Iraqiya bloc. Added to all that previous differences on security posts, internal differences between Iraqiya and State of Law blocs for Erbil agreements and charges that Premier Maliki is governing the country unilaterally.
