National Coalition MP denies agreement with al-Iraqiya on National Council for Strategic Policies

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A Legislature for the National Coalition has denied reaching a new agreement between his Coalition and al-Iraqiya Coalition on the National Council for Strategic Policies (NCSP), saying that the dialogue “continues to reach an accepted agreement by both sides.”   “The National Coalition had always confirmed commitment towards the Arbil Agreement and its readiness to implement all its articles gradually, because it is not possible to implement everything in one day,” Ali al-Shilah said, adding that his Coalition “had not reached a new agreement towards the NCSP.”   Al-Iraqiya Coalition’s Official Spokesman, Shakir Kattab, had told IraqiNews.com news agency early in the day that his Coalition had reached an agreement with the State of Law Coalition , to end the suspended issues between them, pointing out that the agreement included an accord to activate the Arbil Agreement and the NCSP.   Al-Shilah told IraqiNews.com that “the viewpoints of al-Iraqiya Coalition in this respect are u nsteady, because sometimes they want the NCSP and in other times the leader of their Coalition says that he does not wish that, claiming that his popular bases demanded him to reject same.”   “If al-Iraqiya Coalition wishes to establish the NCSP, our Coalition has no objection, and it is possible that we reach an understanding on the issue, through laying a final form for same,” he said.   Al-Shilah concluded his statement by calling on al-Iraqiya Coalition to “act from the logic of goodwill with the National Coalition, and to stop the stepping up of media statements, saying that the partnership was not achieved, despite the major division of authority between both Coalitions.”   Differences have taken place between al-Iraqiya and the National Coalitions about the Arbil Agreement, including the NCSP’s draft-law, including the selection of its chairman, with al-Iraqiya, demanding that his selection be issued by the Parliament, thing that is rejected by the National Coalition, as well as the personality of its chairman and his authorities.   SKH (FT) 640
