National Conference cannot be avoided – Kurdish Alliance MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: “There are no obstacles being presented for the convening of the national conference,” Kurdish Alliance MP Muhamma Khalil confirmed today. “Implementing conditions is an attempt to stoke the fires of the crisis to obstruct the conference’s convening; there is no avoiding attending the conference,” he told IraqiNews.com. MP Khalil expected that “the trends denote that all political entities will participate in the conference”, adding that “this conference will not solve all pending questions, but will concentrate on the present crisis”. Iraq is moving into a severe political crisis after accusing Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi of terrorism and issuing an arrest warrant against him, in addition to Premier Nouri al-Maliki’s decision to demote his deputy Saleh al-Mutlaq, who are both leading members in al-Iraqiya Bloc. Added to all that previous differences on security posts, internal differences between al-Iraqiya and State of Law blocs over the Arbil agreements and charges that Premier Maliki is governing the country unilaterally.
