Night clubs, hotbed for corrupted officials, thieves in central Baghdad, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Hakim al-Zamili, stressed that “The night clubs became a hotbed for the corrupted officers, security leaders and their sons and places for some gangs and thieves.”

MP Zamili stated that “During tracing these night clubs by the security forces it was proved that the people who attend these clubs are corrupted officers and security leaders in addition to some gangs and looters.”

He assured “We have no problem with night clubs but they must be officially licensed in order not to be places for corrupted people, criminals and terrorists because they cause problems for the families and the security forces.”

“During their raid campaigns on the night clubs, the security forces managed to capture some corrupted officers and security elements and criminals,” he referred.

It is worth mentioning that a number of night clubs have spread significantly in central Baghdad where some of them are located amid the housing neighborhoods and others are erected near the mosques which represents a violation for the law which bans establishing such clubs near the mosques or near the residential complexes.
