Nijaifi instructs to hold conference over agricultural situation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, instructed to hold a conference to discuss the agricultural situation in the country.

A statement by the media office of the parliament cited “Nijaifi received a delegation involved chieftains from Nineveh province and reviewed some issues including the agricultural situation and the impediments that hurdle improving this sector and participated in deserting the farms.”

“Nijaifi instructed to hold an extended conference in the parliament to be attended by the concerned ministers and parliamentary committees to discuss this issue,” the statement continued.

“Some other issues like the scarcity of water and the Desertification problem which involved wide areas in the province in addition to the governmental negligence for confronting this problem,” the statement added.

“Nijaifi stressed the importance of agricultural development and its role in supporting the economy of the country,” the statement concluded.
