Nijaifi withdraws from London Paralympics for organizational reasons, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Wesal al-Wakel, of Iraqiyoon Gathering which is headed by the Speaker of Parliament, Osama al-Nijaifi, declared that ”Nijaifi’s withdrawing from London Paralympics was for reasons related to protocol and organization rather than for political reasons.”

MP al-Wakel added in press statement to IraqiNews.com on Saturday that ”The Spokesperson of the Iraqi Parliament Osama al-Nijaifi has withdrawn form London Paralympics because the place which allocated for him is not suitable with his post and position as the Chairman of the Iraqi Parliament.”

She added that “The Organizing Commission of the events was supposed to allocate a place for Nijaifi within the places allocated to the heads and leaders of countries.”

She continued saying that ”Speaker Nijaifi met the Iraqi sport delegation and informed them about his support and he even allocated gifts for winners.”

The Speaker of the Parliament has withdrawn form the inauguration ceremony of London Paralympics because he was unsatisfied with the place which was allocated for seating him. \
