Ninewa Legislatures charges that Federalism reflects Biden’s project

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A number of north Iraq‘s Ninewa legislatures have announced on Wednesday that the Federalism project is “a literal interpretation of former U.S.Vice-President Joe Biden’s project, aimed at dividing Iraq.” “The call for Federalism today is an interpretation of Biden’s suspicious project, aimed at dividing Iraq,” al-Iraqiya Coalition’s Legislature, Ahmed al-Jibouri, told a news conference at the Parliament’s building on Wednesday. “The Iraqi people have rejected the project, when it was the only solution to get rid of the sectarian war that claimed the lives of dozens of its men and women,” he said. Biden had announced a project at the end of 2007, when he was member of the Congress, proposing to divide Iraq into three parts – a Shiite, a Sunni and a Kurdish regions, that was approved by the Congress. “We can settle the problem of the detentions and the deduction in the allocations, that our people have demanded, calling on the Central Government to revise its policy towards those governorates that demand Federalism,” Jibouri said. The news conference was attended by Legislatures Abdul-Rahman al-Luezy and Juma’ al-Minuty from al-Iraqiya Coalition in Ninewa Province. The Iraqi Parliament on Wednesay held a broad conference, related to Salah al-Din and Anbar Provinces, attended by Legislatures of both Provinces, along with their tribal chieftains, according to the media office of the Parliament. The Iraqi Parliament announced yesterday intentions to hold a special session to discuss the issue of the two provinces.
