Nujeify invited to attend Palestinian Conference in Tehran

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Usama al-Nujeify, has received an invitation on Tuesday by the Chairman of the Iranian Islamic Shoura Council, Ali Larijany, to attend the 5th International Conference for Supporting the Palestinian Uprising, scheduled to take place in Tehran on November 1st, a Parliament statement reported.   The statement, copy of which was received by IraqiNews.com news agency, stressed that Nujeify had received Larijany’s Special Advisor and his Bureau Chief, Mohammed al-Jaafary, who confirmed “keenness of the Chairman of the Iranian Shoura Council for Speaker Nujeify’s attendance of the conference, due to the basic and vital role, played by Iraq in supporting the Palestinian Cause.”   Nujeify, on his part, the statement pointed out had “confirmed that Iraq’s attendance of the conference, especially in the current circumstances, would take place to confirm Iraq’s support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and the protection of their unity to confront the Zionist aggression.”   The holding of the said conference would take place on the occasion of the annual anniversary for the Palestinian al-Aqsa Uprising.   SKH (TI)/SR 259
