Nusayif calls parliament to amend item eleven of Communications law draft

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Aliya Nusayif, of the Iraqiya Hurra bloc, called the parliament to “Amend item eleven of the Communications law drafts and make the infrastructure of the Communications run by the government for the security reasons.”

In a press statement by the media office of the bloc, she said “Allowing the private companies to construct the infrastructure of the Communications will result in allowing the international influence that threatens the national security of Iraq.”

“It is impossible to handle all the information and the calls of the officials of security leaders to unknown foreign company that could be an Israeli one or an enemy to Iraq,” she added.

“Spying, held by some countries, is not on citizens’ call, but it will be for officials’ one where the privacy of Iraq will be violated and all the information will be copied,” she pointed out, assuring that “the national security must not be included in the investment and we call the Legislative Authority to amend this item in order to construct the infrastructure of the Communications by the government only.”
