Othman rules out approving request to topple Maliki in parliament

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mahmoud Othman, of the Kurdistani Alliance ruled out approving the request to withdraw confidence from the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki in the parliament.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated “It is difficult to approve this request because there is no deal among the political blocs and it needs political stability to be approved.”

“The political situation in Iraq is not good and there are concerns over the future of the political process in addition to the negative impact of the political crisis to the Iraqi people especially after the threats of the southern provinces to announce themselves as regions,” he added.

“The political leaders must conduct dialogue and settle their disputes away from their personal benefits in order to sustain stability,” he concluded.
