Pakistan to reopen embassy in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Pakistani government has decided to reopen its embassy in the Iraqi capital and to name a new ambassador to Baghdad, according to an official statement “The decision was made following Iraqi ambassador to Islamabad Qays al-Yaqoubi’s meeting with Pakistani Under-Secretary of State for Middle Eastern affairs Omar Ali Khan and the director general of the Middle East department, Iftikhar Aziz, on March 6, 2009,” read the statement that was released by the National Media Center and received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The Iraqi ambassador has been informed that necessary measures will be taken in preparation for the reopening of the embassy. SS (P) 1
