Palestinian president to visit Iraq Thursday – source

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will arrive in Baghdad Thursday on an official visit to Iraq, a source from the foreign ministry said Wednesday. “The Palestinian president is due in Baghdad on Thursday (Mar. 26) on an official visit to the country to discuss means to bolster bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The visit comes after recent visits made by some senior Arab and international officials, including Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa, Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem, who arrived in Baghdad earlier Wednesday.
