Parl. questions IHEC chief

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Parliament on Monday held a session to question the head of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), Faraj al-Haydari. “Haydari is being questioned about violations during the last provincial council elections,” Yazidi MP Amin Farah Jijo told Iraqi News. Today’s agenda also includes a vote on an amendment to the Investment Law no. 13 of the year 2006 and a draft law on the salaries of judges and public prosecutors, the parliamentarian noted. Yesterday (Oct. 4), the Parliament held a session under Speaker Iyad al-Samarraie to question Electricity Minister Kareem Waheed about the deteriorating electricity situation in the country.
