Parliament session lifted till Thursday

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Parliament concluded its seventh session within its first legislative term of third legislative year held under chairmanship of the Speaker Osama al-Nijaifi and attendance of 203 MPs on Tuesday.

The session witnessed conducting the first and second readings of eight law drafts, a statement by the Media Office of the Parliament mentioned, noting that “The Council decided to lift its session till next Thursday.”

The statement added “Nijaifi announced that the Chairmanship of the Parliament decided to extend the sessions of the Parliament for two weeks and stopping granting leaves or travel vacations for MPs in order to speed up endorsing law drafts.”

“Nijaifi also confirmed that the Surplus Budget law draft has arrived at the Parliament expressing his hope to endorse it soon,” according to the statement.
