Parliament to host Deputy PM on electricity contracts

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Parliament has decided to host Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Hussein al-Shahristany, on Wednesday, to explain the issue of the Electricity Ministry’s contracts with “illusionary” companies, Member of the Parliament’s Oil & Energy Committee, Suzan al-Saad, stressed on Tuesday.   “The Parliament shall host tomorrow (Wednesday) the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Hussein al-Shahristany, to explain the issue of the Electricity Minister’s signing of contracts with “illusionary” companies,” Saad told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Saad said that Iraq’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, had decided to sack Electricity Minister, Raad Shallal, from his post on Monday.   SKH (TS)/SR 363
