Parliament to invite Iraq’s Prime Minister Maliki next Saturday

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Parliament is to invite Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, to its session next Saturday, to discuss his government’s achievements and the proposed trimming of his Cabinet, a Parliament Legislature said today (Saturday).   “The Parliament has decided to invite Maliki to attend its normal session next Saturday to discuss his government’s achievements during the past period and his plan to trim down his Cabinet,” Legislature, Mohammed al-Khalidy told IraqiNews.com news agency.   The Legislature for the Kurdistan Coalition, Mahmoud Othman, had called last Monday for inviting the Prime Minister to a Parliament meeting to explain his program for trimming down the Cabinet and the government’s problems.   “The problem does not lie now in the Cabinet’s trimming only, but there are large problems in the government, especially regarding the partnership, the Arbil Agreement, that was not implemented the way it should have, along with the problem of the security cabinet posts, the problem of the security in general, and whether the security ministers would be assigned or not,” Othman said.   SKH (IT)   638
