Patriots blocs strongly rejects Davutoglu’s visit to Kurdistan Region, Kirkuk

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Ahmed al-Jobouri, of the Patriots bloc assured that “The Patriots bloc strongly rejects the visit of the Turkish Foreign Affairs Minister to Kurdistan Region and Kirkuk without notifying the Federal Government.”

He confirmed in a press statement that “This visit violates the Iraqi sovereignty and negatively affects the Iraqi relations with Turkey.”

“It is would be better for Davutoglu visit Kurdistan Region and Kirkuk after visiting Baghdad and getting the required approval for this visit,” he added.

“The visit is a provocative and unacceptable initiative that harms bilateral relations between the two countries,” he emphasized.

He called “The Iraqi Government to take a clear stance towards such behaviors to void them in the future,” he concluded.

Earlier, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Ahmed Davutoglu has arrived in Kirkuk after visiting Erbil.

Davutoglu has arrived to Kurdistan Region on last Wednesday where the Premier of Kurdistan Region, Nijirvan Barzani, has received him in Erbil airport.

The Iraqi Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized the visit and considered it as a violation for Iraq’s sovereignty.
