PM flies for Tokyo on official visit for Japan

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq‘s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has left Baghdad on Saturday for Tokyo on an official visit to Japan, aimed at further developing the economic relations between both countries, according to Maliki’s office on Sunday. “Maliki left Baghad on Saturday, leading an official delegation on a visit for Japan to discuss the development of relations between the two countries,” Maliki’s office reported, adding that “Iraq is trying to strengthen relations with Japan, being among the states that supported Iraq at the current phase, especially canclling all the debts on Iraq and presenting credits to support service projects.” The statement quoted Maliki as telling a news conference before he left for Tokyo that “his visit would form a completion for a previous visit, during which agreements would signed with Japanese companies in the field of oil, transportation and industry.” The statement also stressed that “the delegation, accompanying Maliki, comprised Transportation Minister, Hadi Farhan al-Amiri, Industry Minister,  Ahmed Nasser al-Karbouly, Oil Minister Abdul-Karim Lueiby, the Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Sami Rafouf al-Aarajy, along with the Chairman of the Consultants Commission, Thamer Abbas al-Ghadban and the Prime Minister’s Media Advisor, Ali Hadi al-Mousawi.” SKH (PT) 149
