Political Analyst: Iraq to be divided into region if crisis continues

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The political Analyst, Ahmed al-Abyadh, expected “Iraq to be divided into regions in case the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, remains in his post and the political crisis continues.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The current stage is critical where the political blocs did not reach a solution for the crisis due to the foreign pressures.”

“The President, Jalal Talabani, received the request for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, as he will submit it to the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, who will hold the parliament session within seven days after receiving the request from Talabani,” he added, stressing that “This session will create a huge problem in the country.”

He ruled out “Granting the PM post for Adil Abdul Mahdi or Ibraheem al-Jaafary, after withdrawing confidence from Maliki because some political sides, including the Kurds, will not agree.”

Earlier, the spokesperson of al-Ahrar bloc, Mushriq Naji, expected “The President, Jalal Talabani, will submit the request to withdraw the confidence from the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, to the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi.”
