Political committee formed to prepare for investigating Maliki, says Kilani

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Jamal Kilani, pointed out that “The political blocs which called for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, formed a political committee to prepare for investigating Maliki in the parliament.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The blocs that participated in Erbil and Najaf meetings formed the committee that involved the head of the Kurdistani Alliance bloc in the parliament, Foad Masoum, and the head of Ahrar bloc in the parliament, Bahaa al-Araji, as well as the head of the Iraqiya Slate in the parliament, Salman al-Jumaili.”

“A spokesman will nominated for the committee and the Spokesman of the Sadr Trend, Salah al-Ubaidi, is expected to assume this task,” he added.

“The committee will assume the task of nominating the figure who will investigate Maliki,” he mentioned.

“A legal committee that involved MPs, Haider al-Mulla and Saleem al-Jobouri, was formed to discuss the files which will be presented in the investigation,” he concluded.

Earlier, the President Jalal Talabani assured, on last Saturday night, that the number of the MPs who have signed a request to withdraw confidence from the Premier Nouri al-Maliki reached only 160 MPs which is less than the required number limited by 163.

The political sides which held a meeting in Erbil on last Sunday decided to send “A clarifying message to confirm that the signatures collected for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, are constitutionally suffesient and valid.

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.
