Presiden Barzani to visit Tehran

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com:  Iranian Al-Sharq Daily reported today that president of Kurdistan, Masoud Barzani, will visit Tehran soon to discuss the present situation on the borders and the question of PJAK members in the area.   “Following Nijervan Barzani‘s visit one week ago, it was decided that President Barzani will visit Tehran to discuss these matters,” the paper added.   Iraqi bordering areas have been suffering from Iranian and Turkish artillery and jet shelling for the last few weeks, that led to several casualties and material losses, in addition to hundreds who have emigrated from their areas and homes. The anti-Iranian PJAK party announced desires for a ceasefire yesterday, if Iran were to positively respond, according to a party statement.   It added that its desire was due to friend’s demands and mediations with the Iranian government.   An Iranian military spokesman announced that “this truce has no meaning. The party should leave this area.” RM (TI)/SR 375
