Presidential statement on trade under-secretary resignation

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A presidential statement said today that the resignation of Trade Under-Secretary Suwiba Mahmoud Zangana was in a protest for not being given the post of a minister. The statement, as received by IraqiNews.com, said that her resignation for not being nominated by her party, the Kurdish National Party, for the post of trade minister. The nomination was given to another candidate.  It added that the resignation bears no relation to Premier Nouri al-Maliki.  Maliki approved the resignation after discussions with President Jalal Talabani.  Zangana submitted her resignation yesterday.
