PUK, KDP hold meeting in Sulaimaniya

Sulaimaniya (IraqiNews.com) The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, headed by the President, Jalal Talabani, and the Kurdistani Democratic Party, headed by the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, held a meeting in Sulaimaniya province of Kurdistan Region on Monday.

A statement by the PUK received by IraqiNews.com cited “A delegation form the political office of the KDP, headed by Fadhil Mirani, arrived in Sulaimaniya and met with the political office of the PUK.”

Earlier, the President Jalal Talabani assured that the number of the MPs who have signed a request to withdraw confidence from the Premier Nouri al-Maliki reached only 160 MPs which is less than the required number limited by 163.

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.
