PUK, KDP stress sustaining strategic alliance between them

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Political Bureaus of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan headed by the President, Jalal Talabani, and of the Kurdistani Democratic Party, headed by the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, held a meeting discussing the situation in Kurdistan Region, Iraq and on regional level.

A statement by the PUK received by IraqiNews.com cited “The PUK and the KDP held their meeting in the capital of Kurdistan Region, Erbil, where they discussed the issues of the mutual concerns,” noting that “Both sides stressed protecting the strategic alliance between them and adopting unified stances towards the internal and Iraqi as well as regional issues.”

“Both sides decided to keep on holding joint meetings as soon as possible according to a former Programme,” the statement concluded.
