Reason for repercussions of Iraq’s recent events are due to “liquidation of differences,” Iyad Allawi says

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Leader of al-Iraqiya Coalition, former Prime Minister Iyad Allawi, has said that the reason for the repercussions ofthe recent events in Iraq are part of “liquidation of differences,” warning from what he termed as a phase of explosion expected to confront Iraq in the forthcoming few days.”What is happening in Iraq is part of ‘liquidation of differences’, and the series of recent explosions in Baghdad have taken place due to the failureof the governments that ruled Iraq after the downfall of its former regime of Saddam Hussein, to control the security dossier, signs of which began with the departure of the American forces from the country,” Allawi said in an interview with al-Arabiya TV Satellite Channel on Friday.Allawi said that “neither real institutions, nor a simple political process that unite all Iraqis exists, on basis of which the State stands in its full meaning; and stemming from this logic, the American presence had achieved some kind of balancing, but after the American departure, therepercussions of events to liquidate things and animosities had taken place now,” adding that “the security institutions were built on basis of narrow-party and sectarian foundations that enabled regional and terrorist forces to break through those institutions.””The political vacuum in Iraq over the recent years had invented sectarian trends that invented on its part, a resistance in the form of terrorism,” Allawi said, warning against “a phase of explosion waiting for Iraq during the forthcoming few days,” according to his statement.”Iraq has reached a phase of empty administrative and political vacuum, filled with sectarian trends, upon which the political process was built, thus such resistance had been formed, that was based on resisting the occupation,” he said, saying that he had warned from “the fact thatthe political process would be based on a sectarian basis and the dependence on the political sectarianism over the past few years, thing that would push Iraq towards a phase of explosion.”Noteworthy is that the political arena in Iraq is facing broad differences among political parties, especially between the State of Law Coalition, led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and al-Iraqiya Coalition, led by Allawi, taking place at the time of the departure of the American forces from the country, whilst some politicians have warned from possibility that the political process in the country would fall down, due to theescalation of differences among political forces towards several topics.SKH (ST).1001
