Resigned members not leaders – Kurdish party sources

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The Kurdish National Union Party spokesman said today that the members who resigned from the party are ex-leaders who did not have the chance to win the latest party congress elections.  Azad Jindiyani told IraqiNews.com that they were mostly friends and relatives.  “The main reason for their resignation is being unable to keep their leading positions,” he added.  Different media organs reported that a number of leading members of the party, headed by President Jalal Talabani,  resigned for what was described as “injustice and despair of reform moves of the party.” RM (TS)/SR  391
