Resistance will force American occupation forces out of Iraq, MP says

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Chairman of the Iraqi Parliament’s Civil Society Institutions Committee and al-Ahrar (Liberals) Legislature, Muhsin al-Tamimi, has said that “the Iraqi resistance, in all its forms, will be able to force the occupation forces out of the Iraqi territories,” according to a statement by his office on Sunday.   “The American occupation forces have wreaked havoc flattened, spread intrigues, booby-trapped cars, created Iraqi bloodshed; so, not a single honest Iraqi citizen shall accept the presence of the occupation forces for another day,” Tamimi told IraqiNews.com news agency, adding that “resistance is a legitimate right, cited in all international constitutions and laws, and al-Mahdi Army shall have the honor of forcing the occupation forces out of Iraqi territories.”   Legislature Tamimi also renewed rejection for the presence of American forces or their extension in Iraq , charging that “they were behind the security and economic deterioration.”   The Spokesman for the Shiite Sadrist Trend, Salah al-Obeidy, had said in a speech before a mass demonstration, demanding the departure of the American forces from Iraq on 9/4/2011, that if the American forces “do not leave Iraq, Imam al-Mahdi Army would restore military resistance and step up the peaceful resistance, as well.”   Noteworthy is that the American combat troops had left Iraq at the end of August last, according to the Security Agreement, signed between Baghdad and Washington at the end of 2008, whilst the remaining U.S. troops, estimated at 50,000, would leave before the end of the current year.   SKH (RT)   576
