Russian News Agency: Allawi calls Russia to mediate for visiting Iran
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Russian Moscow News Agency revealed that the head of the Iraqiya Slate Ayad Allawi, requested Russia to mediate for visiting Iraq.
The Iranian Fars News Agency quoted the Moscow News Agency as stating “Allawi’s visit to Moscow was due to the lack of public’s support after his stance over the case of the Fugitive Vice-President, Tariq al-Hashimi.”
“The News Agency pointed out that Allawi insisted to visit Iran by sending his personal envoy, Mohammed Khoshnow, to meet the Iranian officials,” the News Agency added, assuring that “Allawi request Russia to interfere to make his visit to Iran possible to correct his political performance for the media outlets.”
Earlier, Allawi, while holding a press conference on the 8th of September, stated that “His next visit to Egypt and Russia will be for the benefit of Iraq,” criticizing “The weakness of the Iraqi relations with the neighboring countries.
