Saad: Parliamentary Committees to hold meeting over oil pipe passes through Ancient city of Babylon

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Oil and Energy Parliamentary Committee, MP Suzan al-Saad, announced that “The Oil and Energy Committee will hold a meeting with the Committee of Tourism and Antiquities as well as the Culture and Media Committee to come up with recommendations to settle the disputes over the oil pipe that is decided to pass through the ancient city of Babylon.”

She stated to IraqiNews.com “The meeting will end the disputes as soon as possible.”

“The Committee of Oil in the parliament rejects harming the antiquities in the country for any reason,” she added.

“It is possible to get the pipe one and a half Kilometer away from the city to preserve our heritage,” she stressed.

“The recommendations of the meeting will be neutral and actual without harming this or that side,” she concluded.
