Saad warns from dispersing demonstrations by force

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Suzan al-Saad of Basra province warned the security forces in Basra from firing bullets in the air against the demonstrators in the province like what happened in the province on last Monday.

She also demanded to punish the abusers in this regard and present them to justice.

Saad urged the security forces in Basra to “Use democratic and peaceful methods in dispersing the demonstrations as in the advanced countries instead of shooting directly on the unarmed citizens because of its serious implications, especially after the death of two people in the province in 2010, when they were shot by security forces during breaking up demonstrations that were conducted in front of the headquarter of Basra Governorate to demand improving the electricity situation. ”
