Sadr: Najaf meeting supplement to Erbil meeting

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr considered the meeting that was held in Najaf is supplement to the Erbil meeting to settle the disputes among the political blocs.

In a press conference that was held after the end of the meeting, Sadr stated “Najaf meeting is supplement to Erbil meeting for the benefit of Iraq.”

For his part, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, pointed out that Najaf meeting focused on Iraqi unity, assuring that “All options are available including withdrawing confidence from the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki.”

“Our only concern is to save Iraq and the Iraqi people from the crisis and building the governmental institutions,” Nijaifi added.

The head of the Iraqi National Congress, Ahmed al-Chalabi, announced that he attended the meeting as the head of the INC and does not represent the Iraqi National Alliance.

The political leaders held a meeting on Saturday in the Sadr’s house to discuss the political crisis after the end of the set time to Maliki to respond to the letter of Erbil meeting.
