Sadrist MP accuses SLC of conducting attempts to weaken major blocs

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mohamed Ridha al-Khafaji, of Ahrar bloc accused the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, and his bloc, the State of Law Coalition, of conducting attempts to weaken the major political blocs.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Maliki and the SLC are trying hardly to create disputes between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistani Democratic Party by conducting several meetings with the President, Jalal Talabani, and praising him.”

He emphasized “They also try to divide the Iraqiya Slate using the Article 140 of the constitution, which is devoted to the disputed areas,” assuring that “They want to indicate the IS will hand over Kirkuk to the Kurdish sides.”

“The aim behind these attempts is to ensure Maliki’s continuity in his post despite the failed performance of his cabinet,” he concluded.
