Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Amir al-Kinani, of Ahrar bloc within the Iraqi National Alliance assured that the tension between the State of the Law Coalition and the Sadr Trend was over not replying to the letter of the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, which was submitted to the head of the INA, Ibrahim al-Jaafery.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Ahrar bloc called SLC to show a clear response over Sadr’s letter and not an ambiguous answer that has different interpretations,” assuring that “The SLC did not show the real intention to reply which resulted in postponing the meeting of the INA.”

The political committee of the INA was supposed to hold its meeting on Wednesday to discuss the letter submitted by the participants of Erbil meeting.

Earlier, a statement by the political committee of the INA cited “The meeting was held in the house of the head of the INA, Ibrahim al-Jaafery and in presence of all the representatives of the political blocs within the INA.”

“The meeting discussed the latest political updates and the items of the letter of Erbil meeting in order to reach a unified attitude towards it.” The statement concluded.

The head of Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, has participated in a meeting which was held in Erbil involving the President, Jalal Talabani, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, and the as well as the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, to discuss the political crisis.

The participants in the meeting sent a letter, including nine items, to the Iraqi National Alliance requesting Maliki to apply them within fifteen days otherwise they will withdraw confidence from him.
