Sadrist MP described internet light cable as New international spy

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mohammed Retha Khafaji, of al-Ahrar bloc within the Sadr Trend, warned from the danger of the internet light cable that is coming from Europe to Iraq, describing it as “International spy that breaches Iraqi security.”

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Friday, he said “This contract is signed between the Telecommunication Ministry and Nawroz Tel company to allow the passage of the light cable through Iraq to Turkey and Europe rather than Iran because the USA did not allow the passage of the cable through Iran.”

“The USA intelligent department has submitted a report over the fears of having a technology by Iran to break through this cable and control the calls through it,” he added.

“This cable has an economical and security importance due to the incomes that the transit countries can get, but at the same time it raises security concerns,” he concluded.
