Sadrist MP: Investigating Maliki in parliament not to serve Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Hakim al-Zamili, of al-Ahrar bloc within the Sadr Trend described the process of investigating the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki in the parliament as “Not for the benefit of Iraq.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “There is no suspension in the stance of the Sadr Trend over this issue, but we don not have any intention for the investigation and withdrawing the confidence from Maliki due to the dangerous situation in Iraq and the latest developments in the region where the investigation is not for the benefit of Iraq.”

“We will not interfere in the investigation process, but we support if the withdrawal of the confidence is to be done by the President, Jalal Talabani,” he concluded.
