Saedi: “Nijaifi’s signing on Erbil meeting included in investigation request”

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Kamal al-Saedi of the State of Law Coalition assured that “The signing on Erbil meeting by the Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nijaifi has been included within the inquiry made by a group of deputies to the Chairmanship of the Parliament today.”

He told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) Saturday, “Nijaifi has signed as chairman of the parliament during the Erbil Meeting which was discussing a political issue and this is a constitutional violation.”

He also said that “Among the issues that have been included in the inquiry are of constitutional and administrative violations committed by Nijaifi through his running of the parliament sessions,” noting that “Nijaifi’s style is clearly politicized as he allows certain deputies to talk and deprives others from talking during the sessions as well as disabling or delaying a number of basic law drafts, including the issue of lifting the immunity from some MPs as requested by the Federal Court.”

He explained that “The request included displaying these inquiries during a special session to be held for this purpose soon.”
