Saleh in Baghdad for talks on suspended dossiers

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The premier of northern Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, Barham Saleh, is reported to be in Baghdad on Tuesday to discuss the suspended dossiers between the Region and the Central Government in Baghdad, a source close to Saleh’s delegation reported. “Premier Saleh is accompanied by a number of Kurdistan Cabinet Ministers and the Chairman of the Region’s Presidency Office,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency,” adding that the delegation that arrived in Baghdad on Monday night would discuss the suspended issues and other problems between both sides. The Oil & Gas Law is one of the main issues of difference between the Central Government in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Government, especially that the latter had signed a number of agreements with leading international oil companies, rejected by Baghdad. Article 140 of the Iraqi Constitution is another basic issue of difference between both sides, especially the difference on the oil-rich city of Kirkuk, 280 km to the northeast of Baghdad.
