Saleh is not being replaced as Kurdish Premier

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: A member of the Kurdish National Union Party denied news reporting that Nijervan Barzani was to be nominated as a replacement for present Kurdish Premier Barham Saleh, according to the agreement between the two ruling parties to hand over the post every two years. Saadi Pira told IraqiNews.com that no such news was discussed on this subject. Nijervan Barzani holds the post of deputy chairman of the Kurdish Democratic Party, headed by Masoud Barzani. He was the premier of the Kurdish region before the post was handed over to Saleh. Pira added that the both parties have agreed on a basis of partnership in administrating the region. Media sources said on Thursday that Masoud Barzani entrusted Nijervan Barzani to discuss the matter with the Kurdish National Union Party to regain the post as agreed. RM (TI)/SR Number of Reads:145
