Salih, Salihi discuss developing Kurdistan Region, IRI relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy of the Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Barham Salih discussed with the Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salihi the political developments taking place in Iraq and Kurdistan Region as well as the whole region.

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan to Iraqi News agency (IraqiNews.com) stated that “Barham Salih and his accompanying delegation visited on Tuesday the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, within the course of his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, and was received there by the Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salihi, and a number of officials in the ministry.”

The statement added “During the meeting, both sides discussed the political situation in Iraq, Kurdistan Region, the relations between Kurdistan Region and the IRI and ways of strengthening them in a manner that serves the interests of both Kurdistan Region and Iran.”

Barham Ahmad Saleh arrived in Iran accompanied by a senior delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).

He was received at Mehrabad International Airport by senior Iranian officials and the Iraqi Ambassador to Tehran and Kurdistan Regional Government’s representative in Tehran.
