Sides of Erbil meeting going on to withdraw confidence from Maliki, says Haji

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mahdi Haji, of the Kurdistani Democratic Party, headed by the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, announced that “The sides of Erbil meeting are going on to withdraw confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “We will continue in out proposal for withdrawing confidence from Maliki whether we have allies or not,” noting that “We did not depend on certain persons or blocs in launching this proposal because it is a national democratic proposal and a step towards the right direction.”

“If we submit this proposal to the parliament, there will be enough supporters to accomplish it,” he concluded.

Earlier, the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, insinuated his Trend recantation concerning the issue of withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.

In response to question by one of his followers over Maliki’s statements concerning reforming the parliament before the withdrawal or the investigation, Sadr said “The investigation or withdrawing the confidence are constitutional procedures yet due to the disputes that harm the Iraqis these procedures could harmful because our democracy and the political process as a whole is still immature.”
