Sihail stresses necessity of forming Water National Council in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The First Deputy Speaker, Qusai al-Sihail, stressed the necessity of forming the National Council for Water in Iraq in order to set a correct strategy for running water resources in Iraq in addition to find suitable solutions to the problems that Iraq has in this field.

A statement by Sihail’s office received by IraqiNews.com on Saturday “Sihail headed a meeting for the Parliamentary Agriculture and Water Committee where he discussed the law draft of forming the National Council for Water and the delayed law drafts with the Committee.”

“Sihail stressed the necessity of making use of the experiences of the countries that share water and have problems with each others,” the statement added, noting that “Sihail assured that the developmental program of the UN has an interest in forming this council.”

According to the statement, he called the Committee to “Host the experts in water field in order to develop this project that will be responsible for guiding the government and provides the suitable strategy for it.”
